  1. Background

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) is a multilateral partnership of six countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste) working together to sustain extraordinary marine and coastal resources by addressing crucial issues such as food security, climate change and marine biodiversity. 

The Regional Secretariat of CTI-CFF is looking for a Marketing and Publication Officer (Temporary Staff under Contract for Service) to provide effective communication and marketing services to support CTI-CFF organizational programs, projects, and activities. The position is responsible for the development, project management and implementation of a range of communication, engagement, liaison, media and marketing project to promote, support and engage CTI-CFF stakeholders and targeted stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be assisting the Communication and Information Manager (CIM) in accordance with the CTI-CFF Communication Guidelines, Host Country Agreement, and other CTI-CFF regulations and policies. Also, he/she will work in close collaboration with the Program Services and Corporate Services teams, CTI-CFF National Coordinating Committees (Ad Hoc Communications Working Group), CTI Partners, media and other organizations.

 

  1. Scope of Work 

  1. Supports in planning, designing and marketing of the CTI-CFF internal and external strategies for communications, outreach and advocacy strategy/activities, in support of the CTI-CFF Regional Plan of Action

 

  1. Outreach

  • Maintenance of increased coverage and understanding of CTI-CFF work in the region through regular media contacts and provision of newsworthy information to national public and where possible, CTI Partners through preparation of a range of time-sensitive written content including project plans, reports, discussion papers, newsletters, speeches, releases, and publication materials

  • Supports in planning, preparation, organization, implementation and marketing of CTI-CFF related outreach and community related activities e.g. Coral Triangle Day 

  • Coordinates the production and delivery of publication/promotional materials and knowledge/communication products to improve engagement and outreach

 

  1. Facilitation of knowledge building, information and data management

  • Develops a systematic repository and documentation, monitoring and evaluation of the visibility activities

  • Identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learned as well as project accomplishments that may be packaged into knowledge product/communication material

 

  1. Assists in conduct of project/program launches, campaigns and CTI-CFF organized activities/workshops/conferences/meetings

  • Provides substantive support in planning and implementing promotional activities to position CTI-CFF as a regional platform for 

  • Provides substantive support to management and program staff on public messaging and media outreach, and assists in managing reputational risks or crises around sensitive issues

  • In collaboration with Program Services and Corporate Services, contributes to the production of reports and publications and delivery of events

 

  1. Supports in planning and facilitating digital communication including CTI-CFF-managed websites, social media, intranet, 

    • Maintains digital content of CTI-CFF managed websites, official CTI-CFF social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) and other potential on-line collaboration platforms

    • Supports in planning, preparing/developing and facilitating the development and implementation of a digital content strategy and contributes to the development of key communications and advocacy products (e.g. human-interest stories, engaging social media posts including copy/content,visuals ,etc.) ensuring consistency of messages and materials to CTI-CFF goals.

    • Explores the applicability of new and emerging tools and techniques to digital communication and advocacy activities to reach targeted and wider audience.

    • Monitor and evaluate the dissemination of advocacy and communication material to target audiences and impact of the same

 

  1. Coordination and Reporting: The  Marketing and Publication Officer will report directly to the Communication and Information Manager

 

  1. Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Marketing, Advertising, or related field

  2. At least 4-5 years communication and marketing experience

  3. Proven high proficiency in oral and written English

  4. Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, include speech writing and writing for a range of publications

  5. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing content using a number of different communication channels such as social media, print and broadcast media; should be social media savvy 

  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and a capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders including management, staff, media, CTI-CFF National Coordinating Committees, CTI partners, suppliers

  7. Demonstrated project/activity management ability to deliver multiple outputs/projects on time, and to agreed quality standards

  8. Demonstrated experience supporting the development of communication and marketing initiatives

  9. Graphic design skills (Knowledge in use of Adobe Software such as Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for in house graphic production are desirable and an advantage.

  10. A strong sense of cultural awareness and the ability to work with people from different nationalities

 

  1. Compensation 

The compensation (paid in Indonesia rupiah equivalent) for this position depends on the candidate’s qualification and level of experience.

Contract Duration:  3 months
